Hawk, a Special Needs Horse, is a 7-year-old Navajo reservation horse that had a traumatic life. He needs consistent, loving attention, preferably to be an "only horse."  He's fearful and easily startled. It will take time to gain his confidence and trust, and lots of dedication to hold that trust. You CANNOT get angry or you will have to start all over.  There will come a day when his great heart is healed by a special person. He will win your heart; he did mine!

He loves to go out on trails and to the mountains. He is fearless of terrain and surefooted. Though small in stature, he is very fast and loves to run. He carried Conor (age 5) on a trail ride last summer, a wild and crazy day through several miles of mountain terrain, and he was very careful of his little passenger. He trailers easily and is very cooperative with his feet.

He's used to children and dogs. It's best not to put him in a herd.  He creates chaos in group feedings. He has "small guy" mentality and thinks he's a stud. He has challenged all of our geldings and every stallion that's come through here. He took quite a beating from Talon when somehow they got together. Thank God the hose was right there!
